BAGLUNG:  The Pun Magar Museum at Ghorepani, Myagdi district has proved an additional attraction for the tourists visiting the Annapurna region.

The ethnographic museum showcases the art, culture, costumes and the tradition of the Pun Magar community, an indigenous people of the area. There are hundreds of artefacts and goods associated with the community preserved at the museum.

The museum was established 15 years back at the initiation of the Pun Hill Mothers’ Group. Entry to the museum is free.

Various utensils unique to the community, household articles, jewelry, clothes and handicraft items are the treasures preserved at the museum. Some of these articles are already out of use.

Ghorepani, one of the must-see stops on the Annapurna trekking circuit, is a world-famous tourism site. More than 30 thousand tourists visit this place every year. It provides a splendid view of the Himalayan mountain range and sunrise as well as being a chosen place for adventure trekking.
